Monthly highlight: March

A highlight of a recent opening this month which was the Spring edition of the Fairmont’s afternoon tea

Spring Afternoon Tea at The Fairmont, St Andrews

​

You are firstly bought over a selection of:

Puff pastry with asparagus and hollandaise sauce

West Coast, crab with crème fraîche and lemon bar jelly 

Home-made crumpet with smoked trout pate and caviar

Beetroot and goats cheese pastry 

 

Sandwiches included smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber, chicken and tarragon and egg mayonnaise. The cucumber is grown on site and you’re given a top up of sandwiches which I think is a GREAT addition!

You are then followed with two plain scones and two fruit scones. These are accompanied with:

Lemon curd

Raspberry Jam

Clotted cream

 

After the scones, the most beautiful main event is bought over:

White chocolate and rhubarb mousse egg

Cherry Bakewell

Chocolate and vanilla Battenberg 

Duche cream pastry with strawberry

Honestly some of the tastiest things I have tried for a while!

If you are not already full, you then get two finishing cakes which were a cherry bakewell and a dundee tart - YUM
